Lindsay Artkop is an award-winning drummer, Berklee graduate, and high-level drum coach based in Los Angeles, CA. With over 15 years of experience performing, recording, and teaching, she’s helped hundreds of drummers—from total beginners to advanced players—build serious skills, unlock creativity, and gain the confidence to play in any setting.

Lindsay’s passion for drums began at just six years old when she spotted a shiny kit in a music store and never looked back. She studied privately with Bernard Purdie in high school, attended the Educational Center for the Arts, and went on to earn her degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, she focused on drum set performance, songwriting, music business, and music theory, studying under world-class instructors like Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave Dicenso, Bob Gullotti, Ralph Peterson Jr., Henrique De Almeida, Tony Thunder Smith, Kim Plainfield, and Jon Hazilla. She has also been mentored by the legendary Chris Coleman.

In 2015, Lindsay won 1st place in the international Hit Like a Girl competition, judged by world-renowned drummers including Kim Thompson (Beyoncé), Hannah Welton (Prince), Didi Negron (Cirque du Soleil), and Venzella Joy (Beyoncé). She’s since performed live across the U.S. and internationally, including a major drum clinic tour through China, and has been featured in DRUM! Magazine, TomTom Magazine, DrumChannel, and more.

As a performer, Lindsay has played and recorded drums for artists across genres—from pop and jazz to fusion and rock—including YouTuber Sam Tsui, music producer/artist Louis Futon, Korean-American hip hop star Ted Park, and jazz legends Tierney Sutton, a nine-time Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist; Kat Dyson, a master guitarist-vocalist and former member of Prince’s band; Sunnie Paxson, a contemporary jazz pianist; and Michelle Coltrane. She's recorded for TV commercials, music videos, and pilots, and brings that real-world experience directly into her coaching. She’s been featured in publications like DRUM! Magazine, TomTom Magazine, and DrumChannel, and is also a contributing writer for TomTom. She has been interviewed on music podcasts including The Broken Glass Podcast, The Drum Heads Podcast, 180 Drums Podcast, Drum Education Live Podcast, Around The Kit with Joe Gansas, and The Carl King Podcast.

As a coach, Lindsay is known for her unique, empowering teaching style that combines technical mastery with creativity and personal growth. Her lessons are tailored to the individual—whether you want to learn your first groove, prep for an audition, or confidently jam in a band. She offers flexible lesson packages, unlimited support between sessions, and an approach that helps students truly enjoy the learning process. Lindsay has helped her students gain merit scholarships to some of the best music schools and win competitions around the globe.

She’s led clinics at major events and institutions including the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), New York University’s Annual Day of Percussion, and The Collective in NYC. Her international 2017 China Drum Clinic Tour with Nine Beats included performances and masterclasses in Dalian, Zhuhai, Macau, and Beijing. In 2019, she traveled to Taipei, Taiwan, to teach drums at the annual Taiwan International Percussion Convention (TIPC) with Ju Percussion Group. She has also collaborated on creative drum videos with artists like Kiran Gandhi and Shariq Tucker. She composed and fully produced drumless tracks for the Drum-Off International Group. She has also composed and transcribed drum parts for songs with various bands and theatrical productions.
